Oh man, it took me awhile to get over the whole separation of IRL and online friends, but I think it's to the point where I either filter out those posts in my journal or just assume they're not going to be interested enough in my fandom life that they'll bother going to my fic archive, which I kept out of my journal for a long time but now link to it on my profile.
Basically, I ran out of things to feel embarassed about. But everybody is different! I've been writing fic for like ten years, I had to 'come out' about it eventually.
